Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Merck will be conducted 12:00PM Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Gap Hill Baptist Church by Dr. Boyce Whitman, Rev. Billy Ray Merck, and Rev. Jeremy Merck. Burial will be at Gap Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church.

Hueston J. Merck, 87, of Central, South Carolina, died Friday, December 31, 2021 at his home.

Born in Six Mile, he was a son of the late Frank Jefferson and Vera Gertrude Dodd Merck. He was the owner/operator of Merck’s VW Repair for over 44 years.

Mr. Merck served his country in the United States Navy Veteran during the Korean War. He was a member of Gap Hill Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday School Teacher.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Annie Josephine Merck of the home; a son, Rev. Billy Ray Merck (Terreca) of Six Mile; a daughter, Donna “Tuttie” Chappell of Easley; 2 grandchildren, Rev. Jeremy Merck (Stephanie) of Norris, and Katelyn Roper (Patrick) of Six Mile; 5 great grandchildren, Kinsey, Tanner, Ella, Kayedin, and Brysen; also surviving are 3 brothers, Richard Merck, Leon Merck, and Eugene Merck.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Josh Merck, a son in law, Avery Chappell, two sisters, Bobby McAnulty and Myrtle Merck, and a brother, Jimmie Merck.
