Freddie R. Leslie, age 68, of Liberty, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Born on December 30, 1957, in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late Tommy and Betty Brown Leslie. Freddie lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and many cherished moments. He was a hardworking sheet metal mechanic with Pride Mechanical, where he brought skill and dedication to his work in the HVAC industry.
Freddie was an AVID South Carolina Gamecock fan, and you could often find him cheering for his team with enthusiasm. He loved football, spending time outdoors, and the thrill of rabbit hunting. His heart was especially full when he was playing with his grandchildren or enjoying a cookout surrounded by family and friends. Freddie had a special connection to his Ford truck and was never one to shy away from weekends spent raising chickens or watching NASCAR races.
Freddie was not only a hardworking man; he was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 43 years, Teresa Hester Leslie, and a loving father to daughters Cayla Griffin and Tasha Carver (Aaron). He also took great joy in being a grandfather to Kadenze, Emily, Peyton, and Kassidy, and a great-grandfather to little Raylynn. He leaves behind brothers Nick, Victor, and Keith Leslie, who will forever treasure their shared memories.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his only sister, Kathy Brewer; two brothers, Steve and Randy “Pete” Leslie; and a precious grandson, Tommy Griffin.
The family will host a celebration of Freddie’s vibrant life on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Solid Rock Baptist Church. A visitation will be held from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM, allowing family and friends to gather and share stories that celebrate Freddie’s incredible spirit. This will be followed by a memorial service at 3:30 PM, where we will honor his legacy-one filled with laughter, love, and a passion for the simple pleasures in life. It is the family’s wish that everyone wear garnet and black to the service for his love of the S.C. Gamecocks.
Freddie’s life may have come to a natural end, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him. We invite everyone to come share in this celebration of a truly wonderful man who found happiness in the simplest of things.
