Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Watt will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 12:00 PM in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens where military honors will be observed. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.
Fred Albert Watt, 86, of Stratford Drive, died Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Richard M. Campbell Veteran’s Home. Born in Pickens, he was the husband to Dorothy Traber Watt for 55 years and a son of the late Joseph Wilson and Naomi Robinson Watt. Fred was a 1954 graduate of Pickens High School. Afterwards he served in the United States Air Force and later retired from Instel. He was a great mechanic and enjoyed his tractors. He loved being outdoors and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Joy Hix(Andy) and Julie Childress(Glen) both of Anderson; and six grandchildren, Savannah Childress, Lauren Childress, Delaney Childress, Hayley Hix, Dagen Hix and Kora Hix.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Watt; and two brothers, Joe and Paul Watt.
