Doyle Kerry Gambrell, 75, of Liberty, South Carolina, passed away peacefully from natural causes on November 27, 2024. Born on August 25, 1949, in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late Doyle Alvin and Willie Mae Ware Gambrell.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose warm spirit and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Gambrell proudly served in the United States Army and went on to forge a successful career as a skilled brick mason. He owned and operated Gambrell Masonry alongside his brother Barry for many years, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and hard work that will be remembered in the community.
An avid supporter of the USC Gamecocks, Kerry embraced every opportunity to cheer for his favorite team, sharing that passion with family and friends. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, whose presence brought him immense happiness. He was also the proud owner of his precious dog, Reba, who was his loyal companion by his side.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Tracy Roach (B.J.); two brothers, Mike Gambrell and Barry Gambrell (Kay); a sister, Denise Wynn (David); his loving grandchildren, Elias Roach, and Andrella Roach; also surviving is his stepmother, Carolyn Gambrell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Hooper.
A visitation to honor and celebrate his life will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the Liberty Mortuary.
We will remember him not only for his work ethic and dedication to his craft but also for his ability to start a conversation with anyone and make friends instantly. May he rest in peace.
