Dennis Walker
Liberty, SC
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Moore Walker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on April 19, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on June 17, 1947, in Whitmire, South Carolina, Dennis touched the lives of many with his warm spirit and zest for life. He made his home in Liberty, South Carolina, where he cherished every moment spent with family and friends.
He was raised by his grandparents, Homer and Estelle Walker in the Whitmire Community.
A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Dennis served our country from July 12, 1966, until July 11, 1968, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. His dedication to service was matched only by his passion for life and his unwavering support for his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Connie Walker, and together they raised two daughters, Shannon Overby (Ricky) and Rhonda Clardy (Craig); his three grandchildren, Chandler Clardy (Megan), Tyler Fortner (Breanna), and Hayley Clardy; six great grandchildren, Brayden, Ryleigh, Kinsleigh, Raelynn, Bryar, and River who brought him immense joy. Also surviving are step siblings, Sherleen McDowell, Bill Isbell, and Mike Isbell. As a grandfather, Dennis found endless delight in attending his grandchildren’s sporting events as they were growing up along with spending time with them.
Dennis was also a passionate supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks, and his enthusiasm for the team mirrored his love for his family-a love that was deep and strong. As the owner and operator along with his wife of Hot Diggity Dogs, he shared his culinary talents with the community, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of enjoying his food and his particularness about the quality of everything they did.
Graveside memorial services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Though he may no longer be with us, Dennis’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. We celebrate his life and legacy as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and a true friend to many. May he rest in peace.
