Charles D. “Chuck” Stewart

Liberty, SC

Born in Liberty, SC he was the widower of Peggy Busha Stewart and a son of the late J.W. “Woody” and Edith Gilstrap Stewart.

Surviving are two daughters; Lynn Palmer (Mike) of Six Mile and Charlotte Lowe of Liberty; a brother, Dale Stewart (Cindy) of Liberty; a sister, Jane Malphurs of Pomona Park, FL; four grandchildren; Michelle Smith, Chris Youngblood (Alison), Tim Youngblood (Katie) and Chelsea Smith (Jason); also surviving are ten great-grandchildren; Karen Youngblood (Josh), Abreigh, Adeline, Abella, Hailey, Emma and Allie Youngblood, Blakely Smith, Gabe Smith, and Bryson Smith (Mariah) and one great-great-granddaughter; Danni.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Joe Stewart, and a sister, Eleanor Smith.

Chuck attended Liberty High School and received an Associates degree from Tri County Technical College. He retired from Duke Energy and maintained part time employment with Toyota of Easley up until the time of his death. He was known for his strong work ethic and his dedication to his lifelong hobby of bass fishing. Chuck was loved and respected for his continued desire to provide for his family.

Graveside services to honor the life of Mr. Stewart will be conducted 1:00PM Monday, May 16, 2022 at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30AM until 12:30PM Monday at the Liberty Mortuary.

Dearest Cbarlotte and Lynne, I am so sorry to here of your recent loss. I just now ,today, May 24,.realized that this was yo u r daddy. I still remember what a hard time we gave him and your mom. I'm sure he was always glad.to see that Camaro sitting.in the driveway instead of " not sitting in the driveway ". Right? I'm sure you have many many happy memories of this man. I hope you can recall everyone of them in the days to come. My love to you all.!

I am so sorry to see this post, I know your heart is so broken, you and your family will be in my prayers! Love you and your family!

We send our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Chuck was a good neighbor who we knew we could depend on if we ever needed him. He will be missed dearly.

I last talked with Chuck at my Dad’s home In Easley a few months before Dad passed away. When we were young, we always spent time at Christmas with Aunt Edith, Uncle Woody, and their entire family which was always fun! Chuck will be greatly missed!

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Chuck Stewart. I drove with him at Toyota of Easley for 6 years. We became great friends and I will miss him terribly. He was the finest, caring person I have ever met. They don't come any better than Chuck. God bless his family during this difficult time.

So sorry for your loss he will greatly be missed so is his wife Peggy, also he was a great brother-in-law i remembering him being such a hard worker that loved spending time with his family he is now in heaven rejoicing with Jesus, his wife whom he loved dearly and fishing in heaven!

`TO the best BIG BROTHER in the world, thank you for all that you taught me over the years. TILL we meet again I love you and I hope that they have fishing in HEAVEN!

So sorry to here about this. Just have seen him not long ago at the lake, we both had just put both of our boats in the water. We talked for a little and introduced my wife to him. He seemed just as i have always remembered him, full of life and he was on that quest to find that big bass. He will be missed much, praying for the family.

I have fond memories of Chuck & Peggy and ultimate respect. Yes I wrote Chuck & Peggy because that's where my mind always went. They were that kind of couple and I can imagine the reunion was grand. I thank God for the privilege of knowing folks like this. They leave a profound impression just being who they were as they did life. My prayers of condolence are with the family.... I love yall.

We are so sorry and heartbroken to hear of Chuck's passing. He was one of the greatest men I've ever known and one of my dearest friends; I considered him my "2nd Dad". We will surely cherish the memories of being neighbors with Chuck & Peggy, especially the countless hours Chuck and I spent fishing together over the years. You all are in our thoughts & prayers; may God's peace and comfort be with you in the days ahead.
