Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Center will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 4, 2023 at the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 until 10:45 AM at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Easley, SC.

Charles Avery Center, Sr., 82, of Liberty, SC, formerly of Piedmont, died Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at his residence.

He was the husband to Mattie Fuller Center for 25 years and a son of the late Willis K. and Willie Sue Chapman Center. Charles loved to work, especially outdoors in the yard and fishing whenever he could. He loved spending time with his family and he was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Nadine Garrett (Clint) of Greenville and Sonnya O’Neal (Randy) of Pelzer; two sons, James Center (Tammy) of Piedmont and Jeff Center of Pelzer; three step-daughters, Tracy Dodson (Jamie) of Six Mile, April Phelps of Easley and Connie Henderson of Pelzer; two step sons, Chip McCullough of Denver, CO and Shane Henderson of Pelzer; four sisters, Linda Bell of Piedmont, Theresa Jackson of Pelzer, Donna Cooley of Williamston, and Susan Banks of Naples, FL; two brothers, Pete and Ronnie Center, both of Pelzer; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Charles A. “Chuck” Center, Jr., and three brothers, Gary, Larry and Kent Center.
