Morris Harold “Bud” Gillespie, Sr., 67, of 1135 Wilson Road died Wednesday at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Central, he was the widower of the late Carolyn Finley Gillespie and the son of the late Harold and Evelyn Holiday Gillespie. He was a truck driver for F&R Asphalt Paving and loved farming and spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are a daughter, Melissa Rollins and her husband Melvin of Central; a son, Morris H. Gillespie, Jr.; a grandson, Zach Rollins of Central; nieces, Kayla Ballenger and her daughter Laurel and Katie Wingo and her daughter Cameron all of Central.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Wingo.
