With heavy hearts and a wealth of cherished memories, we announce that Rylee’s Silent Journey has come to a peaceful end.
Rylee Heather Slatton, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, at the tender age of 10. Born on March 11, 2014, in Greenville, South Carolina, she was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her.
From day one, Rylee faced the challenges of Rett syndrome with a spirit that inspired everyone around her. Though she may have encountered obstacles, she never let them dim her love for life. She adored listening to country music, and her favorite moments were spent letting her Alexa fill the room with joyful tunes, creating a soundtrack for her beautiful days.
Rylee had a contagious enthusiasm for school and loved every car and bus ride that took her on an adventure. She was especially close to her family and treasured the time spent with them, whether it was a simple afternoon at home or a family outing. Her beautiful smile and infectious laughter will be sorely missed.
Rylee leaves behind her parents, Michelle Hammond and Zach Slatton, her siblings, Emilee Slatton, Preslee Slatton, Shayna Hudson, Easton Slatton, Sylas Hudson, and William Slatton; her grandparents, Billy Hammond (Terri), David Slatton, and Krystal Wilson; great grandparents, Jean Busby, Joann Hammond, and Donna Parker; her uncles and aunts, Justin Hammond, Mitchell Slatton, Dalton Wilson, Joe Parker, Josh Parker, Traci Haynes, Erica Haynes, Oasis Hammond, and Lauren Parker; and her best friend Traeson. Also surviving are numerous extended family members and special friends who loved Rylee dearly.
Visitation will take place at Liberty Mortuary on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, providing a space for family and friends to come together, share stories, and remember Rylee’s radiant spirit. A celebration of her life will held 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Greenville Evangelistic Church, 3214 New Easley Highway, Greenville SC. We invite all those who loved Rylee to join us as we honor her incredible journey and the lasting impact she made on our hearts.
As we remember Rylee, let us celebrate her courage, her zest for life, and the love she spread wherever she went. She may have departed from this world too soon, but her light will continue to shine brightly in our memories.
