It is with both sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia Geraldine Merrell, who left this world on September 30, 2026, at the age of 55. Born on December 21, 1970, in the charming town of Hendersonville, NC, she was a daughter to the late R.C. and Brenda Merrell Karr. Patricia lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a touch of magic that will forever inspire those who had the joy of knowing her.
Patricia was not just sweet; she radiated happiness with her infectious smile and contagious laughter. An avid Clemson Tiger Football fan, her spirit soared on game days, her enthusiasm lighting up any room. She had a quirky infatuation with wristwatches-each timepiece that graced her wrist told a story, a reminder of cherished moments. Patricia’s warmth extended to everything she did; her love for the Lord fueled her desire to be a blessing to others.
Music was another one of her great loves, transcending genres and filling her life with joy. Despite facing numerous challenges from the very beginning, Patricia’s kind and grateful spirit touched so many lives, and her unwavering positivity left an indelible mark on family and friends alike.
Patricia is survived by her loving sisters: Dianne Lackey, Debra Nix, and Shirley Tousley, along with her brother-in-law Mark Rose, and her dear niece and nephew, Jamie Rose (Patrick) and Brady Rose (Holly). She also adored her great niece, Bryn Rose as well as numerous other nieces and nephews, Phillip and Brandon Nix, Dewayne and Kenny Reece, Donnie Lackey, Leslie Smith and Kristie Karr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Toni Rose; a brother, Steve Karr; a niece, Tina Davis; and two nephews, Brian Reece and Michael Bills, Jr.
We invite you to honor Patricia’s remarkable life at a funeral service scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation from 1:30 until 2:30 PM, allowing friends and family to come together to share memories and celebrate Patricia’s beautiful legacy. She will be laid to rest at a later date with a private interment at Westview Cemetery in Liberty where her spirit will continue to shine bright among the ones she loved.
