Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Holliday will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the mortuary.
Melvin “Mickey” Eugene Holliday, 69, of 186 Dearborn Lane, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Easley he was a son of the late Arthur Hewlett and Lena Sweet Holliday.
He was retired from Alice Manufacturing with 25 years of service and had previously worked 19 years at Woodside Mill. He was a member of New Image Outreach.
Surviving are his wife, Vickie Nichols Holliday of the home; three sons, Melvin E. Holliday, Jr. of Easley, Travis E. Holliday of Liberty, and Lonnie W. Ervin of Moonville; three daughters, Pam Pierce of Easley, Trace Reid and her husband Wesley of Easley, and Yolanda Patterson of Easley; two step sons, David A. Harris of Townville, and Ivan A. Harris of Liberty; three brothers, Charles and Hulet Holliday both of Easley, and Buddy Holliday of Pickens; a sister, Ann Davis of Piedmont; 21 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Renee Holliday Byers.
