Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Kelley will be 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial with Masonic Rites and military honors will be at Memory Gardens in Clemson. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the mortuary.
Marvin Homer Ross Kelley, 74, of 512 E. Main Street, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Cannon Memorial Hospital. Born in the Newry Community of Oconee County he was the widower of Vivian Elrod Kelley and a son of the late Homer and Leah Bottoms Kelley.
Mr. Kelley was a United States Navy veteran having served during the Korean War, and later served as District 4 Chaplain of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a lifetime member of Central Masonic Lodge # 229 AFM.
Throughout his lifetime he owned and operated numerous businesses including, Kelley’s Drive in Central, Tiger Den in Clemson, Coneross Fish Lodge in Seneca, 93 Fish Camp in Central, and The Arc in Central.
Surviving are two daughters, Vickie Foxx of Liberty, Wanda Kaltenbach of Pennsylvania; beloved friend and companion, Thelma Whitaker; two sisters, his twin, Margaret Godbee, and Joyce Cantrell both of Easley; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a step son, Michael Spearman.
