Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Owen will be held in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Burial with military honors will follow at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at the mortuary.

The livestream of his service will be available for viewing at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 12, 2021 by visiting his obituary at www.libertymortuary.com Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and CDC guidelines, face coverings are recommended and social distancing will be observed. Maximum seating in the chapel will be limited to 50 people.

Leonard Duard Owen, 82, of Blue Ridge Drive, died Friday, January 8, 2021 at AnMed Healthcare in Anderson. Born in Liberty, he was the widower of Betty Marcus Owen and a son of the late William Claude and Lillian Johnston Owen. He was a self employed brick mason and was a member of East Side Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are two brothers, Allen Owen, of Charleston and Herschel Owen, of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a sister, Claudia Whitlock and a brother Fred Owen.
