Funeral services to honor Mr. LaMar’s life will be 3:00 PM Thursday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Leon Clifton LaMar, 74, of 735 Old Liberty Pickens Road, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Plattsburgh, New York he was the widower of Carol LaVigne LaMar and a son of the late Leo and Phoebe Parrish LaMar.
He was retired from Trehel Construction.
Surviving are two daughters and sons in law, Amy and Buster Rhodes, and Lori and Harold Holder, all of Pickens; four sisters, Theresa Collins, Millie Sears, Bonny DeVan, and Linda Hamel; a brother, John LaMar; one grandson, Justin Rhodes.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Bola, and two brothers, Donald and Adrian LaMar.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
The family will be at the home.
