Larry Joe Smith
Seneca, SC
Larry “Joe” Smith, of Seneca SC passed away on the morning of Friday, February 4th, 2022 at the age of 59 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family during his peaceful transition from his Earthly home to his Heavenly home.
Joe leaves behind his loving partner of 34 years, Sandra Smith; a daughter, Jett Smith who was the apple of his eye; a daughter after his own heart, Jade (and family); and a son who he beamed with pride over, Zeke Smith (Nick). He is also survived by his Father, Frank Smith; a Sister, Patricia Kreitz (Greg); a Brother, Dale Smith (Becky); and a Sister Cindy Kreitz. Joe also leaves behind his most prized possessions – his grandchildren who truly hung the moon in his world. Emily, Natalie, Chloe and Jade’s children, your Papa loved you with every ounce of his huge heart! Lastly, Joe has several extended family members and close friends who mourn his passing and celebrate his Heavenly home coming. Family was everything to Joe.
Joe is preceded in death by his beloved Mother, Annette Rhodes and his first-born son and best friend, Michael Joe Smith. The reuniting of Joe with his Momma and son, no doubt, was nothing short of perfection.
Joe was an avid fisherman, a hard worker, a lover of life and a family man. He was the life of the party, could grill the best steak to ever melt in your mouth, and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He had a soft spot for children, elderly and animals which only exaggerated his heart of gold. Second to family was Joe’s love of fishing and we know he’s jumping for joy over the big ones he’s catching now.
Per Joe’s request, as he was a simple man, there will be no public memorial services, but the family will celebrate his beautiful life at a later date.
Joe would want to spread a message of love to all those he leaves behind. In his words, spoken in his deep raspy voice accompanied by his huge smile and sparkling eyes…”that is what it takes, love. As long as we got love, we got it.”
