Graveside services to honor the life of Mr. Evatt will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Jared Calvin “Jay” Evatt, Jr., 60, of 1214 Central Road, died Sunday, May, 20, 2012 at his residence. Born in Central, he was the son of Lois McComb Evatt, of the home, and the late Jared Calvin Evatt, Sr. Jay graduated from Pendleton High School in 1969. He also earned a Masters Degree from Clemson University. He previously worked at the University of Georgia Library and later retired from the Anderson County Library System. He loved gardening and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother are many cousins and a few close neighbors.
