James Thomas Coker passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of 52 years to Linda Gail McWhorter Coker and a son of the late Milbert and Susie Staggs Coker, formerly of Belton, SC.
James was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for 25 years at Lebanon Baptist Church and a current member of Six & Twenty Baptist Church. He retired from West Point Home in Clemson.
He was a loving and giving father to three daughters and sons in law, Sherri & Jim Pace of Clemson, Lisa & Brian Boggs of Central, and Regina & Michael Pace of Easley, a son and daughter in law, Paul & Carren Coker of Walhalla; two sisters, Magania Hicks of Belton, and Kathy Hopkins of Texas; 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Saturday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Six & Twenty Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:30 PM at the mortuary.
