Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Bryant will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the mortuary.
Heyward Junior Bryant, 87, of 11 Pineview Drive, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Anderson he was a son of the late Rome L. and Ollie Ruth Owens Bryant.
Mr. Bryant retired from Woodside Mills with 35 years of service, was a member of Calumet Baptist Church since 1954, where he held numerous church offices including Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. He was a United States Army veteran who served during World War II, the Korean War, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant and was a Silver Star recipient.
Surviving are his wife, Frankie Clardy Bryant of the home; a son, Keith Bryant and his wife Rhonda of North; four daughters, Lynne Cornwell of Richmond, TX, Sheliah Hendrix of Pickens, Kim Baker of Easley, and Pam Bryant of Greenville; two step sons, Ron and Eddie Roach both of Pickens; three sisters, Margie Fowler, Ruth Ann Fowler, and Joyce Porter all of Liberty; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 6 step grandchildren.
In addition to his mother and father he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sammie Jo Chapman Bryant.
