Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be held at 11:00 am Monday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens.
Herman Franklin Watson, 88, of 508 Campground Road, died Saturday morning at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca. Born in Pickens County, he was the widower of the late Lucille Hughes Watson and a son of the late Henry F. and Luna Alexander Watson. He served his country during WWII and was retired from Dan River Mills. He was also a member of Calumet Baptist Church and attended the Pace Sunday School Class.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Gillespie and her husband Preston of Easley; a son Mike Watson and his wife Beverly of Liberty; a brother Marion Watson of Liberty; grandchildren, Heather Reeves, Brandon Watson, Justin Watson and Michael Gillespie; and a great grandchild Emma Grace Reeves.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by four sisters, Margie, Mae and Lola Watson and Lila Nicholson; and a brother Hubert Watson.
