Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Watson will be 11:00 AM Monday at Praters Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the churchyard. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Liberty Mortuary.
Herbert Ray Watson, 72, of 541 Praters Creek Road, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2013 at his residence. Born in Pickens he was a son of the late Quinnie and Leila Bolding Watson.
He was a retired truck driver from PYA Monarch and was a member of Praters Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Watson was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved his dog “Maggie” and working on Volkswagens and Trikes. He was also a member of Six Mile Masonic Lodge #339 AFM.
Surviving are his wife, Mattie Mullinax Watson of the home; three daughters, Missy Tidwell of Six Mile, Amanda Watson of Greenville, and Kayla Watson of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Martha Thrasher of Fair Play, and Mary Brown of Pickens; a brother, Randy Watson of Pickens.
