Guy William Wood

A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Wood will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Liberty Mortuary. Rev. Tommy Hayes will be conducting the service.

Guy William Wood, 85, of 275 Winding Creek Road, died Monday at his residence. Born in Easley, he was the son of the late Lee and Melvina Rogers Wood. He was retired from BASF Corp. and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Mary Ellen Childress Wood of the home; three daughters, Guynelle Randle(Richard) of Norris, Janice Knight of Norris and Margaret Wood of the home; two sons, Scott Wood of Huntersville, NC and Jon Wood(Amanda) of Easley; a son in law, Ray Fisher; a sister, Sue Summerall of Missouri; eight grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a daughter, Julie Fisher; 5 sisters, Lillie Triste, Vera Moore, Geraldine Evette, Ruth Simmons and Frances Stansell; and three brothers, Charles, Garland and Lonnie Wood.
