Janet, I am so sad to learn that JP has passed but he has joined the Lord. I was with you today and as the minister spoke of stories, I could hear a cackle - one of those I got you moments Jimmy could pull. He idolized you and especially Angela then came Brooke the Grand. I am sorry that I lost touch after moving to Greenville (88) then retirement in 2000 increased the distance. Mary and I moved the Mount Pleasant in 2003. JP and I shared some trying times during our thirties early forties. JP supported me through the loss of a pet during a house fire, Micheal’s stroke, Susan’s death. I can remember the trying times he had with anxiety. JP was a strong individual, a man of his word, a Kirk look alike, a Friend that we all loved. I missed the opportunity to visit with JP and Dad, Garvin. I would bet that he knew my Dad who was raised in the Norris area. I am sadden for your loss. Jimmy’s absence leaves us with an empty space. Janet, Angie & Brook, We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Jimmy. Can't imagine how much he will be missed here on Earth but he is in the arms of Jesus. We will miss his smiling face, his jokes and all the little tales he could add to something and have you laughing but most of all the Christian man he was. I pray that God will wrap His Loving arms around you and give you peace and comfort that only He can give. We watch his funeral on the computer during these trying times. With deepest Sympathy, Malcolm & Pat Thomas

I was saddened this week to hear of Jimmy's passing. This morning, as Patti prepared our Easter meal, we reminisced while listening to old Glenn Campbell tunes. One titled "Ain't it funny how time slips away" took me back to my youth. I spent many hours of it at the Pilgrim home. Jimmy was what folks call today a roll model for me. Jimmy, Danny, Steve and myself played basketball in that barnyard, literally, that would make a final four team nervous. The first basketball game I ever saw in Littlejohn was at the invite of Jimmy. Jimmy had a wit like none I've ever known an was the slickest checker player who ever played the game. He encouraged me to always do my best and I suppose he was like an older brother. Steve, Danny, Janet, Angie, he will be missed. Love you all, sincerely, Mike Ferguson

Janet, I was so sorry to hear of Jimmys death. I will always cherish the time we worked together in the NG at Clemson. He was always so comical and a little mischievous as well, but there was never a dull moment. Great guy, great friend but most important a man of God. I pray that God will be ever near and dear to you and all the family in the days to come, Blessing, Ray & Gail Collins
