Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Fowler will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Westview Cemetery. No formal visitation is planned; however his body will lie in state at the mortuary from 1:00 until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, and 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday.
Earl Franklin Fowler, 86, of 102 Norman Street, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 29, 2015 at his home. Born in Liberty he was a son of the late Franklin Wilson and Mattie Hinton Fowler.
He retired from BASF and was a member of Calumet Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing, camping, bird watching and his Clemson Tiger Football Team.
Mr. Fowler served his country in the United States Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Margie Bryant Fowler of the home; four daughters, Brenda Mull (Ronnie) of Liberty, Jene Peiffer (Bob) of North Myrtle Beach, Cheryl Byers of Jacksonville, FL, and Karen Fowler of the home; 6 grandchildren, Melissa Mull of Greenville, Brently Whitaker of Myrtle Beach, Kylie Deppen of Manhattan, NY, Josh Mull of Greenville, and Kristin Byers and Kailey White both of Jacksonville, FL; 9 great grandchildren.
He was the last survivor of his immediate family.
The family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Regency Hospice, 880 S. Pleasantburg Drive,Suite 1A, Greenville SC 29607.
