David William Shove Sr., 75, of 261 Willow Spring Road, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at his residence. Born in Lyons, NY, he was the husband of Hildegard Gohl Shove, and was a son of the late Theodore and Eva Countryman Shove. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served with the 368th Engineering Battalion during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Pickens County Department of Roads and Bridges and attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Norris.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 6 children, Leonard Bott of Tennessee, Vienna Hager of Switzerland, Jr. Shove of Six Mile, Frank Eric Shove of Frankfurt, Germany, Serina Lessord of New York and Michelle Lessord of New York; 4 grandchildren, Sabrina Hager, Samuel Barone Shove, Michelle Mercier and Hope Mercier; 2 great grandchildren, Justin and Samira Minder; and 3 sisters, Kathy LaBrake, Sherry Case and Dawn Searor.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by 3 sisters and 2 brother.
A memorial service will be held at the family home, 261 Willow Spring Road, Six Mile, SC, between 3:00 and 4:00 PM Saturday. Inurnment will be at a later date at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veteran’s Cemetery. The family will be at the home. Liberty Mortuary and Cremation Services are handling arrangements. www.libertymortuary.com
