Graveside services to honor the life of Mr. Burns will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Hillcrest Memorial Park. No visitation is planned. His body will be available for viewing from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Monday at the Liberty Mortuary.
David Eugene Burns, 77, of 157 Burns Hill Road, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Greenville he was a son of the late Styles and Phoebe Owens Burns.
He worked for many years at Woodside Mill in Easley, and later retired from Mayfair Mills in Pickens. He was a member of Calumet Baptist Church and the Liberty Masonic Lodge #235 AFM.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Medlin Burns of the home; two daughters and sons in law, Joyce and Kenny Cain of Liberty, and Pam and Lee Quist of Easley; two sons and daughters in law, Tony and Jane Burns, and David and Suzanne Burns all of Liberty; 3 sisters, 3 brothers, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his beloved dog, Odis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson SC 29621. The family will be at their respective homes.
