Graveside services to honor the life of Mr. Curtis H. Whitman, Jr. will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Norris Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Liberty Mortuary. At the family’s request, all visitors are requested to wear face coverings.

Curtis Herbert Whitman, 82, died Friday, February 18, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital Downtown. Born in Liberty SC, he was a son of the late Curtis Herbert Whitman, Sr. and Kathleen Gaines Whitman. A beloved father, brother, friend, grandfather, great-grandfather and Papa.

Surviving are daughters Kay Segers(Greg) of Liberty and Charlotte Shirley(Rick) of Six Mile; a son, Dana Stancil of Belton; a sister, Shirley Bagwell of Gray Court; 4 brothers, Reverend Raymond Whitman(Martha) of Six Mile, Gary Whitman(Brenda) of Cleveland, TN, Terry Whitman(Doris) of Lincolnton, NC, Ted Whitman of Piedmont; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his best friend, Toby Owens of Liberty; close friends, Judy Atwood of Easley, Leebo Proctor and Stacy Hoots of Liberty; and little buddy, Gavyn Proctor of Liberty.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Gwen Grant: and brothers, Robert Wayne Whitman, Roger Whitman, Carl Whitman and Mike Whitman.
