Claudia Whitlock, age 93, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2020.
Born in Easley she was the widow of Herschel D. Whitlock and a daughter of the late Claude Owen and Lillian Johnston Owen, she was a longtime member of East Side Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Denise Gilstrap.

She was survived by three daughters, Tamara Gollach (Jim) and Becky Bagwell (Poss) all of Liberty, and Suzanne Koon (Rev. Randy) of Mountain Rest: a son in law, Robin Gilstrap of Pickens; three brothers, Rev. Allen Owen of North Charleston, and Herschel Owen (Shelba) and Leonard Owen all of Liberty; eight grandchildren, Terry Fowler, Carrie Sutherland, Daniel Koon, Elizabeth Sturkie, Aaron and Evan Gollach, Kyle and Neil Gilstrap; also surviving are 21 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Private services for Mrs. Whitlock will be held in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Joshua Hughes and Reverend Randy Koon officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to East Side Baptist Church, 920 Anderson Drive, Liberty SC 29657, or Mountain Rest Baptist Church, PO Box 37, Mountain Rest SC 29664. The family will be at their respective homes.
