Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. McDonald will be 11:00 AM Thursday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Marine Corp League. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the mortuary.
Charles Wesley McDonald, 76, of 878 Terrapin Crossing Road, died Monday, June 11, 2012 at Anderson Area Medical Center. Born in Hodges he was a son of the late Henry Otto, Sr. and Sarah Mitchell McDonald.
Charlie retired from Bilo and was a member of West Anderson Church of God. He proudly served his country during the Korean War as a United States Marine, and was the Sergeant-At-Arms for the James Howe-Luke Cisson, Marine Corp League Detachment 1145.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Duckworth McDonald of the home; a daughter, Lisa Norris and her husband Kip of Cleveland; a step son, Greg Stansell and his wife, June of Pickens; two sisters, Dot Wrenn of Greenwood and Jo Jones of Taylors; five brothers, Otto McDonald of Ninety Six, Bob McDonald of Charlotte, Thomas McDonald of Fort Mill, Hiram McDonald of Toccoa, GA, and Wayne McDonald of Bluffton; two grandchildren, Kyle Hunsucker and Kelli Stansell.
The family will be at the home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to West Anderson Church of God, 101 Rogers Street, Anderson SC 29625 or the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way #A, Greenville SC 29615.
