Memorial services to honor Charles’s life will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Gap Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Liberty Mortuary.
Charles Alan Garrett, 48, of 728 Kelly Mill Road, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2014 surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Easley he was a son of the late John Garrett, Jr. and Helen Watson Abercrombie. Charles was a 1983 graduate of D.W. Daniel High School, and was a longtime employee of Blue Ridge Co-Op.
He spent over 25 years Coaching Little League Baseball and Football for Six Mile Recreation Department. He loved to coach young people and instill his strong work ethic and determination in them.
Charles and his family were active members of Gap Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy B. Garrett of the home; two sons, Clint and Carter Garrett of the home; a sister, Pam Rampey and her husband Wesley of Six Mile; his father in law, Curtis Bolick of Central; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will be at the home of Dr. Boyce and Doris Whitman, 733 Kelly Mill Road, Six Mile SC 29682.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Six Mile Recreation Department, C/O Town Hall, 106 S. Main Street, Six Mile, SC 29682.
