Carlos Darrell Yates, 64, of 1256 Gravely Road, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at his residence. Born in Mavisdale, Virginia he was a son of the late Carlos Doyle and Matrel Clayborn Yates.
He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, and an avid outdoorsman who loved trout fishing and hunting. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corp attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Surviving are his wife, Debbie Chandler Yates of the home; a daughter, Tarrah Yates-Fisher and her husband Chad of Pickens; Two grandchildren, Haley and Chandler Fisher; three brothers, Daniel Yates of Pickens, Doug Yates of Six Mile, and Jerry Yates of Kershaw; his grandmother, Hattie Lois Reeves Clayborn of Clay Pool Hill, VA; his father and mother in law, Harold and Carolyn Cooley of Belton.
Graveside services to honor Mr. Yates life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. No visitation is planned.
