Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Black will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Capitola McAlister Black, 91, of the Willows in Easley, formerly of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Baptist Easley Hospital. Born in Central she was the widow of Roy Robert Black and a daughter of the late Ed and Lottie Gillespie McAlister.
She retired from Saco Lowell. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Liberty where she was involved for many years with the Young At Hearts.
Surviving are two sons and daughters in law, Robert and Vivian Black, and Don and Sue Black all of Easley; a son in law, Roger Benjamin of Liberty; a sister, Lottie High of Rocky Mount, NC; three grandchildren, Angie Burgess, Steven Benjamin, and Farrah Johnson; 6 great grandchildren, Tucker and Connor Burgess, Kyle and Sky Benjamin, and Breelyn and Ashlyn Johnson.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Benjamin, and three brothers, Henry, Vernon, and James McAlister.
