Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Shirley will be held Monday at 12:00 noon at Liberty Church of God. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service At Liberty Church of God.
Betty Jo Porter Shirley, 80, of 639 Taylor Street, died Friday at the home of her daughter, Tina Shirley. Born in Cateechee, she was the widow of J.T. Shirley and a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Morgan Porter. She was a member of Liberty Church of God.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Tina Shirley of Central and Pheobe Rackley of Seneca; a brother, Jimmy Porter; a granddaughter, Felicia Richardson; and a great granddaughter, Haley Ann Richardson.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by 3 sisters, Helen Moore, Shirley Gillespie and Judy Bailey; and a brother, Willie Porter.
