Funeral services to honor Ma’s life will be 2:00 PM Monday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the mortuary.
Betty Jean “Ma” Burns Knight, 77, of 200 Bridgewater Road, died Friday, August 23, 2013 at Manna Health & Rehab. Born in Easley she was the widow of Thomas Andrew “Fuzz”, Sr. and a daughter of the late Jack Prince, Sr. and Ollie Bolt Burns.
She was the founder of Betty’s Hungry House “The Original Betty from 1981-1985” in Seneca, and was later the Vice President of Knight Amusement Company.
Surviving are three sons, David Knight (Melissa) of Pickens, Tommy Knight, Jr. of Six Mile, and Donnie Knight (Dot); a daughter, Sandra Keenan (James) of Liberty; a son in law, Kent Gardner of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Johnny Burns of Liberty; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Curtis Knight.
