Betty Herd Owens Rowland

Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Rowland will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central.

Betty Herd Owens Rowland, 74, of 1105 River Road, formerly of Central, died Saturday at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Central, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Lila Mae Atkinson Herd. She was retired from BASF and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a daughter, Terry Grice(Hal) of the home; 4 sons, Franklin L. Owens of Enoree, Franklin L. Owens, Jr.(April) of Liberty, Charles D. Owens(Cynthia) of Anderson, and Robbie Owens(Dana) of Westminster; 2 brothers, Jerry and Truman Herd, both of Central; 16 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Owens; her second husband, Willis S. Rowland; a daughter, Dale Owens; and a sister, Martha Chapman.
