Bernis William Durham, 89, formerly of Mae Street in Liberty, died Sunday at Woodruff Manor in Woodruff, SC. Born in the Flat Rock community of Pickens County; he was the widower of Eloise Chapman Durham and the son of the late Thomas Arthur and Ada Woodson Durham. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Durham served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII on the USS Gladwyne from 1944 until 1946. He was a child of God and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are 2 sons, Jan Durham(Audrey) of Mill Springs, NC and Greg Durham(Cindy) of Easley, SC; and 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
