Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Chappell will be 3:00 PM Sunday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:45 PM at the mortuary.
Arnold McWill Chappell, 86, of 121 Belmont Circle, passed away peacefully on Friday February 20, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born in Rosman, NC he was the widower of Evangeline “Vangie” Beck Chappell and a son of the late Walter and Nettie Lyday Chappell. He retired from Platt Saco-Lowell.
His hobbies thru the years included hunting, fishing, coin collecting and playing the fiddle.
Surviving are two daughters, Bea Roach of Easley, and Sherry Chappell of Greenville; five sons, Kenneth Watkins, Michael Chappell, Tony Chappell, and Dennis Chappell all of Easley, and Gary Chappell of Pickens; three sisters, Ophelia Galloway, Jewell Shelton, and Janell McCall; two brothers, Junior and Donald Chappell; 24 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two sons, George Harold Watkins and Johnny Watkins, and three grandchildren, Jamie Chappell, Sandy Watkins, and Jeffrey Watkins, and a great granddaughter, Kayla Watkins, and three brothers, Ralph, Claude, and Melvin Chappell.
