Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Hughes will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Willie Honea. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the mortuary.
Amy Jo Bryant Hughes, 75, widow of Bruce Wayne Hughes, of 110 Sunset Drive, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Easley she was a daughter of the late Ansel Thomas and Lucille Cantrell Bryant.
During her working career she was employed by Sangamo Electric and later retired from Central Textiles where she worked in human resources. Her true love in life was her family, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Terry Jo Hughes Rumph and her husband Dale of Clemson, and April Lynn Hughes of Atlanta, GA: two sons, Bruce Wayne Hughes, Jr. and his wife Carla of Columbia, and John Thomas Hughes and his wife Sandy of Indianapolis, IN; a sister, Nancy McJunkin of Berea; a brother, George Bryant of Easley; three grandchildren, Ashly Hughes, Brittany Sherman and Joshua Rumph; a great grandson, Jack Sherman.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Bryant.
The family will be at her residence. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 301 University Ridge, #5000, Greenville SC 29601.
