I have thought of Alice everyday since she left us. I loved her dearly and will miss her.
My condolences to the family and friends of Alice Karr, a lovely Liberty lady. I am grateful for the gracious service she rendered to the residents of the City of Liberty. With gratitude to God for every remembrance of her life.
Becki, Russel and families my thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this time. Aunt Alice became my second mother after mine was taken for us with ALZ and after her death. I know that she also became mom to almost all of our cousins when they lost their mom. I loved her more than I can ever tell you.Who will I telephone now? Prayer will be my place to go now. Alice was the perfect role model for all ladies, young and old. I am so thankful to know that she is with Jesus now and they are celebrating her homecoming. She is rejoicing with all those that she loved and have gone before. I surely am looking forward to seeing her beautiful face & smile again. Each of you take the time to grieve our loss and then for forward with your life and we know that is what she want. I love each of you and look forward to the life celebration this summer. Stay well.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Dear Russell, Becky and family,
Your mother (loved one) was one of the best parts of our lives! She brightened our lives (Mother's and my) with her calls and cards often. Mother cannot recall or grasp this tragedy and I have a heart that breaks for you. Only God can get us through this experience. Alice was so very courageous and humble. That came from having a true relationship with Jesus in her heart. I don't know anyone whose life has touched so many! She was like family to me.
We are praying for God to comfort and strengthen you in the coming days. We all have only good memories of "our" dear Alice! We were in the same S.S. Class.
We cannot express how much love we have for you all!!
Carolyn Sanders Keasler & Cleon Simmons Sanders
Everyone that knew Alice loved her. She was the kindest and sweetest person.
When Susan was sick Aunt Alice sent a card every week for a year to let us know she was praying for her. I remember one of the Easter egg hunts at her house and how she loved to have all family around for Easter. My heart goes out to the entire family.
May God hold you all near and may prayers are with you all.
With love and sympathy.

I wish I had gotten to know Ms. Alice Karr better than I did, but I am grateful for the few times I got to speak with her. I took my children to the park across from her house and met her while she was checking her mail and spoke to her whenever we saw her outside. It was a rather unconventional way to meet, but I knew from the first time I spoke to her she never met a stranger. She was a wise and kind woman and her legacy that she leaves behind reflects that. My sincere condolences to her family and friends, and to everyone whose lives she touched.
Prayers for peace & comfort for your family...Alice was one of the finest ladies I have ever known. Love you all ..
A wonderful lady and long-time friend to my Mother and our family. Difficult loss, but many good memories, love, and respect for a special person.

I knew Alice when she was Town Clerk for Liberty and I was City Clerk for City of Clemson. We helped each other back and forth with our jobs. Such a sweet lady.

I met Alice Karr at East Side Baptist church 20 years ago she welcomed me into the East Side family and was a blessing to interact with.
I wouldn’t take anything for staying with her on the third shift at The Presbyterian Home after her surgery. We talked half the night. She was still sharp as a tack and could hold her own on any variety of subjects.
And on Sundays when y’all ate at the cafe, I’d come hug her and, Cheryl, you’d tell her it was me, she’d say, well I got my hug from Tommy, now I’m getting my hug from Cathy! She was a sweetheart, loved by all who ever met her! Prayers for all of you in this time and the days ahead.
She was a very dear friend whom I loved. She was a mentor and a true Christian. She will be missed. My loss on earth will be her gain in Heaven.
I am still trying to mentally process these awful, heartbreaking events. Mrs. Karr was one of the finest ladies I knew growing up, and she brightened the lives of everyone around her. May her family find comfort in what a fine person she was and the legacy she leaves!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Mrs. Karr was such a dear friend to us and we loved her so much. Marion and Carol Stewart and Lucille Hughes
The Town of Liberty should lower their flags for Mrs. Karr. She represented City Hall so well during her employment, so kind and gracious to everyone. To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. Mrs. Karr is walking around Heaven now. If a garden is up there, she's certainly in there, just like her beautiful yard. We are extremely sorry for the family and offer our Prayers to them.
When I first met Alice (lovingly known as Nannie), it was at one of the first of several family get togethers that I attended. I remember how her outward beauty..skin, jewelry and clothing was always totally on point but then also her smile and sweet voice was radiating to all who looked her way. Her family adored her and always included her in every family get together. Birthdays, holidays, beach trips, girlie get aways, etc. were always filled with love, respect and laughter. Nannie loved her family, friends, church and God.
While I was ill for two years, she lifted my spirits with cards, $5 bills, gifts and calls. If she knew of a need, her card ministry went into action. She didn't even have to know you for her to personally show Christian love in a way that no one could ever rival. I truly believe that in knowing her, that it was as if I actually knew an earthly angel.
I grieve along with the rest of the Karr family and her community for a life tragically taken from us. I can only hope and pray that others would strive to be better, kinder, loving and more like Alice Karr. She is looking into the face of our loving God and He knows that she ran the race of life better than most.
Love and my deepest condolences to Russell, Rebecca, and family,
Sandy Forrest

My heart goes out to the family of Ms.Alice, especially Becky and Russell. There's not a age when I don't remember this Gracious Lady. She was what I called a Women's, Woman.Well put together the first time you saw her in the morning and the last time you saw in the.afternoon. She had a kind word anda smile for everyone she met.Everytime she saw me when I was growing up,first she greeted me,then she wanted to knowabout my Daddy and Mama. My Daddy owned the old Sinclair Station , drove a taxi,Mama worked at Libcoand raised 4 of us. The love she had for her family, friends, and herTown of Liberty family, was unsurpassed. A Grand Lady.Family, always know you'll see her again and she will be waiting on you all Take comfort in that,I do,.Cause I'm gonna see her again when I see Mama and Daddy. With all my Love and Sympathy, May God Bless You Al.

We loved Alice. She always had a kind word for everyone. She was a gracious lady and beautiful inside and out. She gave to our son's mission trip and sent Birthday cards faithfully to everyone. She was a true example of what a Christian lady should be. We will miss her but are so thankful we will see her again. She is gloriously happy with no memory of the evil here and she can see! Joy Estes
I, for one, remember her contagious smile, she was always a lady, one many young women could learn from. I remembered her praying for me, for she was prayer warrior, praying for many and for her church. I remember her being a gracious and a giving lady. She would help anyone who needed it. I remember that when I came by her pew on Sunday morning in church, she always knew my voice. She would tell how she was praying for me and always asked me how I was doing. She was always thinking about others, even when she herself was going through her own difficulties. She put others above herself. It was very obvious to anyone who met her or saw her that there was something very different about her-- that difference was Jesus in her life. The moment she entered heaven that early Easter morning, I am confident she was met by Jesus, who told her those words all Christian's desire to hear, "WELL DONE, ALICE." We will see her again. Oh, what a sweet day that will be. I love her, I love you all, and Alice will always hold a special place in our hearts. Doug Estes

It was an honor and privilege to serve with Ms. Alice for 6 years as a Liberty city council member and 10 years as Mayor of Liberty, SC. Not only was she serving the town as clerk, she was my most trusted adviser. She was truly dedicated to the town of Liberty. When our citizens had problems, they would come to Ms. Alice and discuss them with her. She was good at serving them in a professional way. She was the most caring person. After her retirement, she would recognize me by my voice. Working with her for 16 years was a blessing to me.
Becky, Russell and other family members, I want you to know we will keep you in our prayers.
George E. Jackson, former Mayor of Liberty, SC

Ms. Alice was always a special friend when we were at ESBC. Her smile, hugs, and love for everyone will always be remembered. Her love for her CHRIST was truly written on her face and in her life. See you in Heaven one day, Ms. Alice!
Alice was a very special lady who always had a smile and she loved wholeheartedly. She is now seeing Jesus and her whole family who have gone before her and to her earthly family if you feel a slight breeze or a soft unexplained touch on your skin just know it will be her. She’s gone from here but you Will see her again. Prayers for all of y’all
Hi Becki and Russell, Aunt Alice was a second mother to me. She and I shared many wonderful moments at her home, on the phone, and through gift giving. I pray for you my dear cousins that God sends His Grace upon you and give you peace. Love to all, Jeff Strack
RUSSELL and CHERYL,I am so very sorry about your family loss. Please accept my condolences.
Mrs. Alice had the most beautiful yard I have seen. I never met her, but told my Mother about her beautiful yard. I felt the pain, hurt and love that our sheriff, Rick Clark spoke of her. I have only heard words of kindness about Mrs. Alice. I want the family and community to know that I'm praying for us all. May God comfort and bless her family and friends.:latin_cross:️:latin_cross:️
Alice was a friend whose life was so important to Mother and me. Her sweet voice was always a welcome sound on our phone! If you couldn't love this humble, caring lady your heart needs warming! We send our love and prayers for her entire family in the days ahead! God bless and comfort you!!!

Becky and Russell, sorry to hear about the death of your mother. She was a wonderful lady and I always enjoyed talking to her when she was at city hall. She is in Gods hands now and that is the most important thing. May God be with each one of you and your families during this time of grief. Sam Hayes
Growing up in the same neighborhood, I was constantly in the Karr family home. Russell and I played sports and went to school together for 12 years. Mrs. Karr was always so patient with us when we did not deserve it. My heart is broken from hearing about this and I just want the family to know that I am praying for them and thinking of them! Mark Bagwell
I met Alice when I was 19 dating a then Liberty firefighter, Kevin Maxey, that I would later marry. Little did I know, the dentist I would go work for in Liberty, Dr Rabon, was Alice’s dentist. She became my dental patient in 1994 & when I exited that office at Dr Rabon’s retirement in 2016, Alice followed me to my current place of employment in Liberty with Dr Lee. She sent me a birthday card every year. I have her last one on my nightstand that she mailed to me in Oct 2019, her last to me. I will love you forever, Alice & am thankful you are just fine now in Heaven waiting on the rest of us. See ya later.
Cindy Maxey

I am deeply sadden to hear about the passing of such a beautiful lady who had a big impact on my Life. In 1977, after graduating College, I became the Secretary to the Mayor George Jackson. During my time while working for the City of Liberty I also had the privilege of working with Alice Karr. She was the sweetest, kind, caring, most thoughtful person who always greeted me every morning with a smile and inspiring words. She definitely loved her family, friends, church and the City of Liberty and you could tell in her everyday talking. To the family no words can describe how sorry I am for your loss. Heaven just got a little sweeter as another Angel gained her wings. Sharing in your sorrow with love and friendship. Ann Chapman Mayer
Loved this beautiful lady - met her while she was still Town Clerk - she was among the first group we deputized to register voters at City Halls in Pickens County.
I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family.

My fondest memories of my dear friend Alice are celebrating birthdays and other special occasions with her, Martha Nalley and Ann Mann and knowing that she prayed on a daily basis for me and my family. I also have many good memories of working with her at Liberty City Hall. I love her dearly and will miss her kindness and sweet spirit. I am a better person for having known her.
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
