Graveside funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Duncan will be 3:30 PM Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Liberty Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Dr. John Adams. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:15 PM at the Liberty Mortuary.
Alfred Jorden Duncan, 77, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Born in Easley he was a son of the late Benjamin “Perry” and Maggie Phillips Duncan.
Jorden was a member of Easley First Baptist Church. He had a successful management career in textiles, retiring as owner and President of Piedmont Pad, Inc. As a good athlete, he enjoyed sports as a participant and spectator. He also valued spending his time with family.
Surviving are his high school sweetheart and wife of fifty-nine years, Shirley Bryant Duncan; one daughter, Susan Hendrix (James), and one son, Barry Duncan (Rosemary); five grandchildren, Matthew (Melanie) and Justin Hendrix (Lani), Jorden White (Will), and Anna and Bryant Duncan, and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Calvin Hendrix. Also surviving are a brother, James Duncan (Cathy), and two sisters, Patricia Jones (Lewis) and Evelyn Cantrell.
He was preceded in death by brothers Frank and Harold Duncan, and sisters, Ozell Owen, Irene Bigham, and Bobbie Garrett.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Easley First Baptist Church: Generations To Come-Building Fund, 300 East First Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
The family will be at the home of Barry and Rosemary Duncan, 102 McAlister Lake Court, Easley SC 29642.
