Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Perry will be 2:00 PM Friday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:45 PM at the mortuary.
Walter Woodrow Perry, 100, of 630 Winding Creek Road, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Perry was born in Cateechee, and was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He started the 1st ambulance service in Pickens County and later retired from Pickens County EMS.
He was a member and former deacon of Norris First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Melva Garrett Wooten Perry of the home; two step daughters, Regina Moore (Daniel) of Central, and Angela Elrod (Steve) of Liberty; a grandson, Ben Moore (Kelley).
The family will be at the home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Norris First Baptist Church, PO Box 130, Norris SC 29667.
