Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Stancil will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Camp Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Prater’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Liberty Mortuary.
Vivian “Adelle” Barkley Stancil, 90, of 152 Stancil Road, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Stancil retired from the School District of Pickens County, and was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. She loved to grow her flowers and was an excellent seamstress.
Surviving are two daughters, Martha Jean Ferguson and Becky Ramey both of Liberty; four sons, Herbert and Allen Stancil both of Liberty, Roger Stancil of Easley, and Rev. Tony Stancil of Pickens; two sisters, Lucille Pilgrim of Six Mile, and Coleen Kennemer of Pickens; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Greg Stancil, and a great granddaughter, Ansley Claire Stancil.
Floral arrangements are appreciated but memorials may also be made to Journey Hospice, 665 N. Academy St, Greenville, SC 29601. The family will be at the home of Dale and Becky Ramey, 880 Terrapin Crossing Road, Liberty SC 29657.
