Robert Donald “Don” Whitworth

Memorial services to honor the life of Mr. Whitworth will be 4:00 PM Wednesday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 until 4:00 PM.

Robert Donald “Don” Whitworth, 76, of 107 Belleview Drive, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia he was a son of the late Glover and Drucilla Camp Whitworth. He was the owner and operator of Otasco Store in Pickens for many years and later retired as the manager of Grady’s Great Outdoors in Anderson. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, yard work and gardening, but his true love was his family, and nothing gave him greater pride than watching his grandsons play sports.

Surviving are his wife, Jane Harding Whitworth of the home; a son, Randy Whitworth and his wife, Jan of Liberty; three grandsons, Matt, Zack, and Caleb Whitworth, all of Liberty; three brothers, Virlyn Whitworth of Conyers, GA, Clyde Whitworth of Athens, GA, and Lamar Whitworth of Macon, GA.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Tony Whitworth.

The family will be at the home of Randy and Jan Whitworth, 209 Sunset Drive, Liberty SC.
