Funeral services for Mr. Blystone will be held Friday morning at 10:00 AM in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Liberty Mortuary. Burial at Limerick Garden of Memories in Limerick, PA will be held at a later date.
Richard Reynolds “Uncle Dick” Blystone, 85, of 341 Gillespie Road, died Tuesday August 28, 2012 at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens. Born in Greensburg, PA, he was the husband of Loretta G. Rearick Blystone of the home and a son of the late William Reynolds and Eleanor Middlekauff Blystone. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired with over 20 years service. He later retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike as well as from Liberty High School where he was well thought of by students and faculty alike. He also enjoyed playing Santa Claus for over 40 years. He was also a member and a deacon of Calumet Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Linda Blystone of Spring City, PA; a son, R. Kenneth Blystone of the home; two sisters, Della Susko and Janet Blystone both of Liberty; and a brother, Ronald Blystone of Camp Hill, PA.
