Graveside services with Full Military Honors to honor the life of Mr. Holliday will be 12:00 Noon on Monday at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson. No visitation is planned but friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 12:00 until 4:00 PM at the Liberty Mortuary.
Preston Rufus Holliday, 73, of 155 Mt. Calvary Church Road, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Six Mile he was a son of Floycie Eleanor Carroll Holliday and the late Woodrow Wilson Holliday.
Mr. Holliday served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force and fought in the Vietnam War. Later in life he worked for C.L. Cannon and Ballentine Hardware. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Peggy Adcox Holliday of the home; two sons and daughters in law, Randy and Sharon Holliday of Easley, and Tony and Brenda Holliday of Liberty; two brothers and sisters in law, Jason and Essie Jean Holliday of Liberty, and Rabon and Eleanor Holliday of Easley; a sister in law, Lynda Holliday of Six Mile; four grandchildren, Ashley Tribble and her husband Jonathan, Michael Holliday and his wife Lauren, Jennifer Holliday, and Jacob Holliday; two great grandchildren, J.P. and Greigh.
In addition to his father he was predeceased by a sister, Judy Joyce Holliday, and a brother, James Hampton Holliday.
The family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson SC 29621.
