Jean Marie Bennett Wood Peek, 87 of Liberty, SC, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 19, 2025 at her residence. Born in Dryden, NY on January 11, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Alton Bennett and Ruth Yaples Marshall. Jean was a retired bus driver for Cortland City School District. She owned a farm in Virgil, NY. She worked for Smith Corona, Terrace Restaurant. She also took care of many individuals doing home health care. She was a kind, caring, loving woman who would help anyone in need. Jean’s hobbies included crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing, attending and setting up at local flea markets. Everyone that knew her loved her dearly. She attended the Church of Jesus Christ Lamb of God in Pickens, SC.

She was predeceased by her late husbands, William Wood and John Peek;  brothers, Philip Woodard, Jerry Bennett; sisters Eva Edgar and Sharon Marshall; a daughter Donna Davidson; a great grandson Aidan Kirkland; and one great granddaughter Amber Jackson.

She is survived by her sister Letha Gleason; her brother, Junior Bennett; her seven children, Patricia Thomas, Ruth Brame, Lou Ann Wood, Neal (Stacy) Wood, Nancy Brown, Marie Shepard, and William (Gary Iron) Wood II; 21 grandchildren: Marjorie Thomas, Buck Fairbanks, Michael Brame, Mark (Gina) Brame, Pete (Danielle) Brame, Madola Chilson, Shannon Chilson, Faith (Justin) Bisel, Clyde Chilson, Jim (Judie) Wood, Ruby (Joe) Osborn, Neal (Mandy) Wood II, Rebecca (John) Starling, MaKayla Alcorn, Jennifer (Paul) Brown, Eric Brown, Jeremy (Krystle) Brown, Satesha Kirkland, John Neff, Christine (Perry) Nix, David (Keri) Neff. She has 65 great-grandchildren and 58 great great-grandchildren.

There will be no funeral services held as this was her wish. Grave side services will be held at a later date in New York. If anyone would like to make monetary donation in her name please send to the Church of Jesus Christ Lamb of God at 129 Winchester Mill Road Pickens, SC 29671.
