It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Martha Rackley Lovell, who left this world on January 28, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on May 3, 1953, in Easley, South Carolina, she was the widow of Mark Lovell and a daughter of the late Grady and Dorothy Chappell Rackley.
Martha lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that will be cherished by all who knew her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Joel Rackley and Brian Gillespie, who were the pride of her life. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Betty Lee and Mary Wimpey, also surviving are six grandchildren, Tosha Scott, Stacie Mazell, Jeffrey Davis, Megan Tarkenton, Stephanie Seigle, and Allison Mason.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Rackley, and four sisters, Pat Dalton, Barbara Freeman, Linda McJunkin, and Lana Rackley.
The bonds of family were incredibly important to Martha, who found immense joy in hosting family gatherings, where her home was filled with warmth and the delightful aroma of her home-cooked meals.
A lover of crossword puzzles and thrifting, she had a unique ability to find joy in the little things. Her curious spirit and infectious laughter touched everyone she met, creating connections that will last beyond her departure from this world.
Funeral services to honor her life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at the mortuary.

In her own unique way, Martha reminded us all to treasure our families and seek joy in every day. She will be dearly missed but forever celebrated in our hearts.
