It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Josie Farmer: beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who left us peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on October 18, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born on October 25, 1933, in Anderson, South Carolina, she was the widow of Junior Farmer and a daughter of the late Frank Smith and Azalee Adcox. She was predeceased by a sister JoAnn Patterson and granddaughter Kasey Lee Patterson.
She is survived by her daughters: Cheryl Karr (Russell), Karen Patterson (Danny), son Craig Farmer (Jenny) and daughter in law Tracey Farmer, sisters: Nancy Bagwell (Joe) of Liberty, SC and Betty Sue Altman of Kingstree, SC.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Matthew Patterson (Brooke), Haley Karr, Kayla Hunt (Blake), Carly Cagle (Jacob), Zach Farmer and Madison Farmer.
Josie also had five great grandchildren: Claire, Korbin, Kallen, Everett, and Veda Lee.
She was a long-time member of Calumet Baptist Church and previously had worked at Pratt Read, Woodside Mill and Liberty High School cafeteria.
Josie enjoyed being around her family and friends, watching her children and grandchildren grow and spending time with all sitting out on her screened porch.
Graveside funeral services to honor the life of Josie will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 25, 2025 on Josie’s 92nd birthday at Liberty Memorial Gardens. She will be laid to rest beside her husband.
The family will receive friends at the graveside after the service.
