It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stanley Charles Pirnes, who left us peacefully on July 22, 2025, at the age of 94.
Born on March 4, 1931, in Hibbing, Minnesota, he was the widower of Genelle Robinson Pirnes and a son of the late Charles A. and Mary Hill Pirnes.
He was a devoted father and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served honorably for 20 years, including tours of duty in both the Vietnam and Korean Wars.
He will be lovingly remembered by his three daughters: Lori Dent (Michael), Patti Shirley (George), and Debbie Chase (Don); also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Ethan Dent, Andrew Dent, and Katie Shirley.In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Lila Lagerquist.
He was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather; a source of laughter, and love for his family. He will forever be remembered especially by his son in law for his favorite saying, “I KNOW YOU’VE GOT YOUR OWN IDEAS BUT……..”.
In addition to his military service, he had a passion for restoring old cars, often spending countless hours in the garage bringing forgotten treasures back to life. He also found joy in bowling and golf, where he cherished the camaraderie of friends and family. Whether he was swinging a club or sharing a dance step, Stanley embraced life with open arms and a joyful spirit.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 25, 2025, at Liberty Memorial Gardens. No formal visitation will be held; however, he will lie in state from 10:00 am until 12:00 PM on Friday at the mortuary.
Mr. Pirnes will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, service, and joy in life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
