Pickens, SC
With deep love and gratitude, we remember Paul Randal Stewart Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant to his community, who entered the presence of his Lord on February 7, 2026 at the age of 84.
While we grieve his passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and the assurance that he is now hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” He was a longtime member of Secona Baptist Church.
He was a graduate of Easley High School, Greenville Technical College, and later from the FBI National Academy.
Randal proudly and faithfully served his community with a distinguished career in law enforcement for many years, dedicating his life to protecting others and upholding justice. He worked with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, from 1969- 1991 where he served as Chief Deputy, and with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED)from 1990-1999 where he later retired leaving a lasting legacy of integrity, leadership, and commitment. Throughout his career, he influenced and mentored countless men and women in law enforcement, shaping lives through his steady guidance, strong character, and unwavering sense of duty.
After retirement he began a career at the Cliffs Golf community and The Pickens Country Club as a Golf Ranger
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara Jean Haynes Stewart; his daughter, Robin Willis (Scott); his son, Paul Randal Stewart Jr.; his granddaughters, Anna Hatcher (Austin), Mara McAlister (Drake), and Caroline Stewart and fiancé Easton Radford; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Emory, Rhett, and Graham Hatcher.
He was preceded in death by his father James Stewart and his mother Sarah Guest Stewart and a sister Jackie Lee Smith.
Beyond the badge, he was a man who deeply loved the simple joys of life. He found peace on the water while fishing and joy on the golf course, moments that reflected his calm spirit and appreciation for time well spent. He loved gardening and growing Muscadines and Cooking! He was well known for his homemade salsa and Shrimp cocktail sauce! Those who knew him best will remember his wisdom, quiet strength, and the way he showed up-consistently and faithfully-for the people he loved.
Above all, he was a family man. His love, example, and values will continue to live on through his legacy in his family and through the many lives he touched during his years of service.
Funeral services to honor Randal’s life will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Secona Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
