It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Chrisley Jones, who left this world peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on May 13, 1932, in Green River, North Carolina, he was a son of the late JW and Carrie Lee Ruppe Jones.

Chris lived a life filled with love, hard work, and lasting memories. A devoted carpenter who proudly worked for Garrett Construction for many years, where he was known for his skillful hands and kind spirit.

His warmth and generosity touched the lives of many who had the privilege of knowing him. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by a brother Raymond Jones and sisters June Galloway and Viola Tate. Also surviving is a special niece and caregiver, Evelyn Smith, and numerous other nieces and nephews, and special friends, Bennie and Sherry Chapman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Estelle Smith, Pauline Jones, Irene Dodgens, and Christine Smith, and a brother, Boyce Jones.

Funeral services to honor Chris’s life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel.  Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends prior to the service 10:00 until 10:45 AM at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Ruhamah Baptist Church, 1610 Red Barn Road, Liberty SC 29657.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Family Hospice and the staff of Viva Senior Living in Easley, for their loving care given to Chris.
